The Alberta Prion Research Institute and the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and the Northwest Territories have come together in the creation of a new partnership for the financial support of research on Alzheimer disease in Alberta: the Alberta Alzheimer Research Program. This new Program will support the conduct of research on basic mechanisms of Alzheimer disease and on controlled studies of interventions designed to improve the quality of life of those with Alzheimer disease. The Program is open to all qualified researchers within Alberta institutions, and has a special emphasis on supporting first-time independent investigators.
