CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUPS

Caring for a person living with Alzheimer’s or a related disease is a commendable and busy undertaking. Support groups provide an informal setting where you can: rejuvenate, learn new information, and share with others experiencing similar situations.

Join in at anytime, or drop by to see how a support group can benefit you throughout the Alzheimer journey.

FIRST LINK PROGRAM

This program includes home visits to individuals, newly diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia, and their families/caregivers. Referral to this program is by a physician or other healthcare professional. A trained volunteer will make the first phone contact and offer to visit. This visit would include: information about the disease, caregiver information, community resources and an offer of ongoing telephone support. The visit will also allow families to ask questions and get reassurance that there is help available.
